Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
Whispers of Antidote (“we”, “us”) is a counselling practice in Kampala, Uganda. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our WhatsApp number, why we collect it, and your rights under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
What we collect
- When you book: your name, WhatsApp number, the service and time you choose, how you want to meet (in person or online), your time zone, and any notes you choose to add.
- Sessions for young people: the parent or guardian’s name and phone number, and their consent.
- When you pay: the mobile money number you pay from, the amount, and the payment reference. Payments are processed by PawaPay through MTN or Airtel; we never see or store your PIN.
- When you contact us: your name, phone number and message.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to block spam and abuse, and a security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) confirms a real person is using the forms.
We do not ask for an email address, and we do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
How we use it
- To arrange, confirm and manage your sessions, including reschedules and cancellations you request.
- To take payments and issue receipts.
- To send you WhatsApp messages about your booking: confirmations, receipts, reminders and payment reminders. These are sent from our WhatsApp Business number.
- To answer your questions and keep our records accurate and secure.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the practice, and only what each one needs:
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — to deliver WhatsApp messages to you.
- PawaPay and your mobile network — to process payments.
- Sanity — where booking records are stored, in a private database.
- Vercel — which hosts this website.
- Cloudflare and Upstash — spam protection and rate limiting.
Some of these providers store data outside Uganda. We use them because they protect data to a high standard. We will also share information if the law requires it.
Confidentiality of your sessions
What you share in counselling sessions is confidential and is not stored on this website. The website only holds what is needed to book and pay for your sessions.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as we need them to provide our services and to meet our accounting and legal obligations, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, or stop using it for a particular purpose;
- stop sending you WhatsApp messages — just tell us.
You can view your booking at any time on Track my booking. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda.
Deleting your data
To have your information deleted, send us a message on WhatsApp with your booking reference or the phone number you booked with. We will confirm once it is done.
